Well, after last night's Duke-UK game I may have to take up watching curling or something this winter. I think we might be seeing the Usain Bolt of basketball in Zion Williamson.

There's a series on ESPN+ called Earn Everything which focuses on pre-season Duke Basketball. They showed the players going through the measurements typical in a combine. In order to measure Williamson's vertical, they had to raise the bar holding the tabs that the athletes reaches for by putting weights underneath it. It was amazing to watch a person that big that high off the ground.

Looks like hes going to be some heavily armored version of Magic Johnson, all the same moves but with 70 extra pounds of muscle.

If you watched the video, you saw him put up some rather nuanced shots - in between the power-dunks!

I only saw some modest-range pull-up jumpers, probably all uncontested, along with a bunch of dunks that are against high school kids looking like high school kids. How will he do when he is at least matched physically by opposing players. In a way, he might not be learning what he needs to learn playing the way he is. He would be better off if he was not allowed to dunk, as was Alcindor in college.

i hardly watched the thing frame-by-frame, but came away with the impression that he didn't swish a single shot. But man, can he levitate!
