Celebrating African American Long Distance Running History

To: The Long Distance Running Community

Below is a social media post I did this week updating a ranking of all-time African American female marathoners. The list documents ten black women who have broken 3 hours. I’d like to add an honorable mention category to this list for American born women that have also broken 3:10.

I wish to ensure that the list is complete. If you are aware of any African American women currently or from previous eras that have run sub 3 or between 3:00 to 3:10, please let me know.
