Yeah, the conditions aren't great, but great duel between Muhammad and Russell in the w400m hurdles, with the American edging out the Jamaican 53.77 to 53.78.

Are my eyes deceiving me, or is Kendricks out of the pole vault with a best clearance of 5.46m?

    Kendricks gone very early.

Gardiner won the 400 in 43.99 ahead of Makwala. Fred Kerley started very conservatively and finished 4th. Christian Taylor getting closer and closer to sub 45 with a SB of 45.24, which might be his 2nd best performance ever.

Another sub-44 for Gardiner, just barely this time!

McNeal turns the tables on Harrison this weekend, with the world record holder finishing third behind the Olympic champ and Nelvis. I do wonder if McNeal would have been world champion in London were it not for the suspension. She's been the top American finisher at major global champs for the last three majors she's attended (2013 WC, 2015 WC, 2016 OG). Remarkable consistency.
