I know. That's why I'm hoping for that food poisoning this weekend. Maybe sewer backups, a locust plague, and other bad juju. Hoping to follow the Oregon Trail in 2020.

I just finished watching the women's discus (online), which took place outside the stadium on a grass field with no spectator atmosphere (or good camera angles). They really shouldn't even consider having the trials in Des Moines. Too many events outside the stadium. Too half-assed.

Has it ever been publicized that Des Moines/Drake has even applied for the re-bid for the 2020 Trials?

News stories from last summer are about the original 2020 bid decision coming down to Mt Sac, Eugene and Sacramento. And Eugene and Sac's re-bids have been publicized.

I know Des Moines had a failed bid for the 2016 Trials.

TrackTown and Sac State publicly stated they would bid. I did not think Drake was bidding. I will be at the Board Meeting Sunday (whatever portions I can, I'm sure they will meet for hours in executive session).

Max said at the board meeting that they are still a few weeks out from the decision.

Chester Wheeler from the USOC was brought into tell the board how terrible Mt SAC was.

Gosh, which city would I rather visit in June or July for 10 days for an outdoor track and field meet? Hmm, let me think about it....
