    Orji's biggest problem with getting out to those high-end distances is probably that she's the shortest of world-class triple jumpers

    I believe the same argument was made for Raven Saunders in the shot, but so far That has not stopped her from making some very long throws. Maybe Orji breaks the mold similarly in the TJ.

    Does that impact her speed? Short can mean more explosive. Women's TJ isn't that spectacularly advanced that average and ordinary can't be competitive. Mick McGrath, back in the day was a short TJer in Australia. He clearly had a different technical challenge than his taller competitors. But he won many big comps.

    I believe that's wrong. I can't explain how that could happen, but it's extremely unlikely that everyone else would have been a DNS, after entering the meet. Moreover, the Florida Gators press release on the meet shows results for the two Gator triplers shown as DNS in that result sheet linked in the initial post on this thread.
