    If I remember right in those days they measured the tracks without curbs closer to the inside... that was a major high school meet for years...

    I remember that day well...I thought about going since our house was about 10 miles away....but it was so hot I didn't think he had a chance to break it....

    Many high school tracks have no curbs. Marks on those tracks can be considered valid if the track was measured 20cm from the inside line. Tracks with curbs are measured 30cm out. The equivalents on 440y tracks are 8 and 12 inches.

    A high school track measured for no curb currently requires cones on the curves, but from what I can find, this may have only been a requirement since 2017.
