Trivia question: can someone name an athlete (male or female) who finished 2nd in five successive world records in the same event?
Five world records in same event in a row with always the same 2nd place finisher - I think that's quite astonishing. I don't know if there also is another answer to this (or actually could be topped) - but I really would be surprise if there is.

Another question: John Walker has participated in ten races where the winner has set a world record (not in just one event / excluding his own two world record races). What's the highest number for such a feat? (I don't know the answer). Or in just one event?

Maybe Bill Nieder behind Parry O/Brien; or O'Brien behind Nieder and Dallas Long; or Long behind O'Brien and Nieder.

@KDFINE: good idea, but it's none of these shot putters

@Bruce: also good idea (you're probably thinking of Hägg/Andersson), but it's also none of them

this is a stunningly great question (unfortunately, I don't have even a mediocre answer, let alone a stunningly good one)

@KDFINE: without checking, but I would definitely say no. Nurmi also has set his records over a variety of distances, so it's not related to Nurmi.
