I am a fan of VCB, but this is a VERY disingenuous statement, which ANYONE can honestly make. Everyone feels that they can always do a little better (Bob Beamon may be the exception to this rule ;-) )

The fact that she said 100m, means that she knows that she cant go faster than 21.74 over 200m. But she doesn't have to anyway.

. . . Yawn. Why not? Whose fault is that? What could you "really" do?

Sorry, self critical athletes never believe they have done their best. I have watched her for quite a few years and she has put some really good 100s together.

Beamon, Flo Jo, M Powell, Bolt and MJ(a couple of times each) Jonathan Edwards, probably a few others.

I hope she is not deluding herself over the 100m .Everyone who
uts a fast time or even a Wr still feel that they could g et faster ..maybe the start was a lil sluggish or they died on the last 10m .But that doesnt give you enough right to make a statement like this .Maybe she knows her potential...But sometimes is just about the type of runner you are .Same can be said about Allyson ....She never starts rexally well or about Shelly ...She dies at the end

I still believe that that race of campbell at Ostrava was a great race ...maybe the fastest she qill ever get

    Shanghai 2008. 11.01 0.0m/s

With a Reaction Time of 0.567

It was one of the most horrendous reactions I've ever seen to a gun. The rest of the race was superb. Her actual run time was 10.443 meaning that she would have been 10.6 with even a poor .200 R/T

She was obviously in great shape, as evidence by her 21.74 in Beijing one month earlier.

    What could have been...if only for a half-decent R/T...

I thought I remember that race, her reaction time was corrected from 0.567 to something like 0.35.

Still that was a 10.8 race easily.

It was definitely a 10.6 high race

So, are you disputing the corrected RT of 0.35? that would add 0.02 to her time.

lol no I am not disputing that. Reaction time or not. All she needed was a Shanghai 2011 start and the rest is history.
