How many times does a person have to get struck by lightning in order for us to conclude it's not coincidence?

Obviously, Uceny is an immense talent and I feel for her, but my intuition tells me that she's wearing a lightning rod, though it may not readily apparent to her or anyone else where that lightning rod is.

I'm also joining the "it isn't a coincidence" crowd re: Morgan Uceny.

Maybe her leg strength or sense of balance just isn't up to par with the other runners who get bumped and clipped without going down so easily.

If she was hit three times before she went down it is probably not just balance.

Re Uceny -- I have no better idea than anyone else. It is strange. I have not studied the race video to the extent I scrutinize other anomalies (eg, Bigfoot sightings, etc), but it did not look like much contact in the group, at least to my untutored eye. I did not discern a stumble, and then all at once she was down.

Whatever happened, she has my sympathies.

I was hoping Uceny could give Simpson at least a run to the finish and, based on recent form, she would have been a challenge for Cain for sure.

It's tough to tell what happened. If she was hit three times by McGee there was no discernible reaction from Uceny and it didn't appear there was any sudden movement forward, backward or sideways by any of the runners around Uceny at the time of the fall. In fact, from the head on view, it appeared Uceny may have drifted to the left a bit right before she went down.

    ??!!
Who's side are you on? It IS coincidence if you get hit three times by lightning, but I do (now) think Uceny's issues are her own causing.

Maybe Uceny could stay out of trouble if they ran the 800 and 1500 in lanes all the way.
