Finally saw the Simpson-Cain heat. Hadn't seen it earlier because I don't get NBC. (Don't really want to, either!!! )
Anyway, great race for both Cain and Simpson.
Smartly run, both position and pace-wise.
Happy to see Cain NOT going to the back and inside, but mixing it up in front, being aggressive.

Efraimson looked good, also being tough, hanging with solid World Class runners like Mary and Jenny, not being afraid.
Watched it a few times, so I could study everyone's positions & tactics.
Alexa finished strong, so I think it was just a slow period for her between about 1100 and 1300.
But she regained her kick, and finished strong.
    Good portent for WJC!

    USATF-TV doesn't have Uceny's heat up yet.
Want to see that one too.
    Really happy she's apparently BACK!!!

Uceny went from 4th to 1st in last 400, run in 62.71. This is encouraging, as is recent sub-4:05. Here's hoping she runs well in the final. Grunewald had the best finish, coming from 9th with 62.15. (The USATF results have finish-line splits/positions for all runners; pretty cool.)

Same here! For an "off" year, it should be a cracking final. (channeling my inner Brendan Foster & Steve Cram)

NBCSN did not show the first semi, they just prevented USATF.tv from showing it. Thanks.

I have a vague recollection of Efraimson defeating Emma Bates in a late Fall or early Winter open road or cross-country race around 5 - 10 K. If so, that would be her best distance - not 1500. Can anyone help me?
    none

    Yes.
It was at the Dellinger Invitational 5K (or 6K?) last October (or late September?).
Bates was ahead, but a final kick by Efraimson nipped her (by half an inch??) at the tape, both given the same time.

Bates was interviewed this season (a few months after that race, and after Efraimson's fast times indoors and out this year).
She said she didn't know Alexa was a high school kid.
She was shocked to learn that!

Thank you for saving me time that would have been wasted looking in late Fall or early Winter. Clearly that race was in early Fall.
