One factor in Oregon's favor that I haven't seen mentioned is Laura Roesler. She only had 40 minutes rest between the 800 and the 4x4 at the 2014 NCAA Indoor. She'll have a full day of rest on saturday. In the 2013 NCAA Outdoor she took the baton in sixth place. I expect her to be in a better position this year.

While I respect Francis and Roesler, I would be surprised if this was truly close.

Remember Oregon beat Texas indoors in the 4x4. Whoever wins, it will be close.

Too many people are impressed with those altitude-assisted 400 marks. Here the Texas gals also have heats of the 400, Finals, and then the 4x400s; they will have to work a lot harder before the Final than they did in the Conference meet, where they did not have to worry quite as much about the 4x400 because not as much was on the line (NCAA title). Texas was the favorite indoors and Oregon has beaten the favorite in several 4x400s in a row now. And, in case you have not noticed, the meet is in Eugene where the stands will be packed with the Faithful.

Texas iced them in the Penn Relays and won by almost five seconds. Granted, you sub out Claudia Francis for someone like Christian Brennan, but Texas has a pretty clear speed advantage. If Courtney Okolo drops a 49.7 bomb on the like she did at Penn, it's a race for second place. We'll know more after the 400 heats of course.

Tighter turns, shorter straights, three months ago. Different animal.

It's certainly possible that Oregon will run faster than they ever have or that Texas will falter but, from the results at Penn, Oregon might be more concerned with holding off A&M than running down Texas.
