When was the last time an event had both the indoor & outdoor collegiate record holders competing in it, and not the same person?

and here's another question: when was the last time a 2-time defending champion was only the No. 3 seed?

That heat is a monster. Spencer should have it easy in her heat.

Has she (Spencer) ever been the #1 seed going into the NCAA's? I expect her to win it again, honestly. She has that "something" which she tends to display whenever it comes to this race, at least outdoors. However, I'm not sure if 50.2 will win it this year. Between Francis, Okolo, and Spencer, at least  one of them will go sub 50.
