I notice the Pre 5000 list is up w/o Galen Rupp. That's a little surprising. Although Mary Cain is supposed to run, and she isn't listed either. Wonder if there is a problem w/Rupp?

Yeah, but no start list for them yet. I don't see Rupp in the "B" mile, so maybe the 10,000.

Getting second and running just under 13:20 may indicate that Rupp is a bit off form right now and not ready to take on the level of competition that Pre presents. That's my guess.

They can probably get in if they want and might figure it best not to list and then not run so they are waiting to see how things develop. I think that the heat has to be taken in to account when assessing performance. It is one thing to run reasonably well in the heat in July, it is another to be from a cool area and running in very warm conditions in May.

I agree with this. He ran well but lost his snap at the end. More than likely the heat sapped him a little.

He's running the 10 at Pre.

And Pre 10s being what they traditionally are, wouldn't surprise me, if training is going right, to see it set up as an AR attempt.
