How many sprinters does this school have? I see five of them listed in the 100 and or 200. A couple from Jamaica a couple from the USA and one from St. Kitts. The new Blinn/Barton?

Rewmember that year a 4x4 team from Barton beat the SMTC?

Tons of great/good sprinters have gone the JC route...

    Tyson Gay, Steve Mullings Barton
Lee Evans, Ato Boldon, Millard Hampton SJCC
    Tim Montgomery, Brian Lewis Blinn
Daneil Effiong, Kim Collins, Davidson Ezinwa, Percival Spencer Central Arizona
    Eddie Hart Contra Costa
    The Harrisons Hartnell
    Coby Miller Meridian
    Butch Reynolds Butler

    ....to name a few.

Check 2010 when they ran 3:03 at the Texas relays.

I remember that, just don't remember the school having that many 100/200 sprinters. Can't recall a time where a JC had this many sub 10.30 guys windy or not all there together.

They have a long T&F history, possibly longer than Blinn and Barton.

I can't think of any sprinters of note from there, and I do keep up with that sort of thing.

Well, given a 3:03 seeming not to be too much on your radar, your 'sprinters' must focus on 100/200; that is two of

    100/200/400/800/1500/3000SC/5000/10,000/110h(100h)/400h
SP/DT/JT/HT/LJ/TJ/HJ/PV/Dec(Hept)/20K [also 50K/Marathon, but not college events generally]

or about 10% T&F. Now you tend to know certain necks of the woods better than I do, and I am only relating my impression of South Plains over the years, but it seems that they are not newcomers and not typically 'also-rans' (although my memory could be wrong).

South Plains has long been a farm club for D1 programs where athletes gained more attention.
Levelland, Texas is a "salt of the earth" kind of place. I have relatives there but if you are not an irrigation cotton farmer there may not be much there to interest the oursider.
