What a powerhouse the girls of St. Thomas Aquinas are...
    - Another HSR at the Florida Relays yesterday in the 4x200 - 1:33.43
    - A new HSL for their 4x100 today - 45.53
    - And another fine 4x400 today - 3:40.10
(Note: their 3:38.26 from last week was the fastest 4x4 in 10 years, #7 on the A-T HS list, and the fastest ever by a Florida school).

    Well done...

Sorry, I stand corrected, I overlooked the 2008 Maryland girls... but I checked individual years since 2008, so, fastest 4x4 in the U.S. in the last 6 years, and the fastest ever by a Florida school... impressive regardless...

Here's where they stand all-time (These schools have not posted times faster than 3:38.26 since 2008, as only the best A-T mark is listed for each school):
3:35.49 Poly, Long Beach, California 2004
3:35.72 Wilson, Long Beach, California 2001
    3:37.02 Roosevelt, Greenbelt, Maryland 2008
    3:37.69 Muir, Pasadena, California 1985
3:37.71 Kennedy, Granada Hills, California 1981
3:37.85 Logan, Union City, California 2004
    3:38.35 Skyline, Dallas, Texas 2003

    Saw on Milesplit a mark that...IF REAL.....would be # 2 A-T HS!!
Haley Showalter supposedly threw the HT 207-8 at the USATF Youth Trials!
If that's the regular HS weight for the HT, then she's now # 2 behind Shelby Ashe's HSR!!

Also has a mark for Kamryn Brinson of 184-9, which places her 16th A-T HS....if it's the regular weighted implement!!

Anyone know anything more about these marks, especially Showalter's??

BTW, Showalter is a junior, and threw 166-4 last year.
Brinson is a soph, and threw 156-3 last year!!

Have you ever considered looking at the rulebooks before having these public orgasms?

This past weekend, GA frosh Candace Hill, goes 11.44 (1.8) and 23.21 (1.2) HSL at GA State Champs - she looked good in doing so, check out her 200 form...

Does anybody (aaronk, where are you?) know where her 23.21 ranks age-group wise or class-level, this appears to be an outstanding performance for a frosh.

Thanks Marlow - very impressive, relatively speaking, for Candace...

Over in Arizona, keep an eye on HS junior Paul Lucas this weekend, who is going for four(!) individual championships at the AZ State Meet: 100/200/400/LJ (not sure if he has relay duty). He ran qualfying rounds yesterday, check out these impressive times for heats: 10.42 (0.6) PR, 21.05 (-0.6) and 46.90 - not a bad day's work for the youngster.
