In a virtual kinda way SAFP has now clearly taken over the 100m pole position of Usain Bolt.

There the same age but she seems like she is steadily improving while he might be on the decline. He thinks he can still break his records if health is good. However i am doubting that.

Shelly is considering running indoors next year. We'll see how it pans out.

Indoors should be more important than outdoors for her next season since that is where the major championships is at. She will be 27 and at the peak of her powers so this is her shot to get that 60 meter record. It would be a shame if she keeps putting it off until it is out of her reach when we all know she can obliterate that record if she was to actually train for it. On top of that imagine what an even more improved start would do for her 100 prospects combined with the fact that she is now a regular 200 meter runner. I dont know we might say goodbye to Flo Jo wind tainted record.

At her best, I think Fraser can give us a 6.85 in the 60m.

Damn! I completely forgot about this meet! I always miss the good shit!

Is there any way we can encourage the Rieti organizers to include the w100 in Sunday's schedule? Shelly is obviously thoroughly warmed up, and it is late in the season. Since Carmelita ran her 2 PRs even later in 2009 (10.67 on 13 Sep. and 10.64 on 20 Sep.), I must assume Shelly is almost at her fever-pitch to drop a 10.6x. We know how fast the Rieti track is, with Asafa's 9.74 and Rudisha's 1:41.01.

Ditto. Shelly's turbo boost kicks in way earlier than most of the other girls today, at around 20-40m. Carmelita's hardly kicked in until after 40 or 50m. Too late for her to run under 7.00 most of the time (her indoor PR is 7.02A), even if she manages 10.7x.
