Actually that "small moat" is 20 feet deep and 20 feet wide. She was in no danger. She is, however, a danger to herself.

She has no fear of nothing breathing, not even an irate grammarian. We can all wait with "baited" breath for the next stunt.

It depends on how much of a run up it gets and whether the jump is a fair or foul one.

Maybe for a human but not for a large adult cat.

When I first saw the story on social media I showed it to my wife and said that they forgot to mention the moat in between kitty and the crazy woman. I've stood in the same spot the person with the camera is countless times going back more than 50 years.

Who could have possibly seen this coming?

A North Carolina woman died when the cigarette she was smoking ignited her oxygen tank:

Forty years ago, I had an elderly aunt, still as feisty as when she was 20s flapper, who, over the admonitions of her family, would pull her oxygen mask aside to smoke. She succumbed to the vicissitudes of old age at 98 without her tank exploding.
Ironically, her oldest daughter, also a smoker, died of lung cancer in her 70s.
Her younger daughter, who is my age and never smoked, is alive and well and has been married to her HS sweetheart for 73 years.
