OK, but your post did make it sound like you were down on the episode, e.g. "I never watched the show, but that one scene with the poison was so over-the-top Hollywood, NOT subtle!" As jeremyp said, the ricin had become sort of a character itself over the course of the show. Who was going to be the recipient was the big question. So when she dumps the sweetener in her tea, that's the ricin's big spotlight moment. It was supposed to be in-your-face obvious. Even I said to my wife "Aha! There goes the ricin!"
and let's not forget the LCD factor. Thread on the IMDB discussion board today:

<<How did Walt get the ricin into Lydia's coffee?>>
Well he knew when she would be at the restaurant, so he brought the pre-packaged sweetener with him. Lydia asked for "more" he could have easily put his package in there.

It will be nice to see Odenkirk playing an aggressive character again.

"Mike Ehrmentraut" is back too! Great! He was one of the glue characters in BB. Maybe "Gus" as well. Be still my beating heart. I like it that Gilligan is "slow as mud" in writing TV screen plays. The best writing is often like the best wine; aged. And people too.

Just watched "El Camino" the post Walter White movie on Netflix. "Jesse grows a pair" might be a better title. Bittersweet to watch Robert Forster's last performance, he died Oct 11. Had to explain stuff to the wife as she had forgotten B.B. last episode. Amazingly I hadn't. It's etched in the mind. Both Jesses (Paul and Plemons) look plumper.
