There may be more than one answer to this, but I just happened across this guy.

Who pitched the winning game in the Little League World Series and then went on to play for a team in another one of the major pro sports that won it all?

Pretty sure that it is a hockey player, but his name escapes me at this time. I remember hearing the story back when he was in the NHL.

Edit: Chris Drury wiggled its way forward in my memory banks.

OK, try this one, which was the favorite trivia question of the '56 NCAA javelin winner (you can cough up his name as well,if you'd like)

Name a guy who earned both a Pan-Am gold and a Winter Olympics gold.

    No ideas there.

I looked up Drury's wiki page, and he won the LLWS for Trumbull, CT, where I go a few times a month for business reasons. My company has a pretty big facility up there.

Does there have to be a track and field connection? Both Chad Hedrick and Derek Parra have won golds in inline skating at the Pan-Ams and gold at the Winter Olympics.

The javelin winner was Phil Conley who also was top American in Melbourne. No clue about his trivia question.

Winter Olympics & Pan-Am gold: Eric Heiden?

If there were a track connection, would be in the historical forum.

As for the skaters, there was no such thing as inline skates when I first heard the question!

This was meant to be continuing in the vein of the first question: two different sports (which I don't really consider skatings)

Well, Heiden was more than a speed skater. He turned to cycling after his skating career.

But I see now that he turned to pro cycling and was not in the Pan Am games.
