    Since it was his alma mater, something tells me that Rupp was calling Kansas KU before he knew where Lexington was.
    Well, there was some inside joke there. OSU (the one in Oregon, gets called 'Moo U' by their U Oregon brothern while the OSU crowd calls them U of Zero -- the OU simply reversed it so as not to get the U of Zero version because I think neither school needs to denigrate the other. By the way, I was on the faculty at Oregon State (at the time that they dropped track - not my fault, my salary was not that large and most was paid by grant money).

    I had not expected German to do much this year, but I guess either the accident was overstated or he is a quick healer. Glad to see it.

    "UC" was generally (almost always?) going to be parsed at 'U of California'; I think that CU was the result of that reality.

    Of course, Trojan detractors like to refer to USC as University of Second Choice or University of Spoiled Children. I'm sure there must be a UCLA equivalent.

    Southern Cal men's teams are the Trojans, women are the Lady Trojans. Why are they not called the Diaphragms, or the IUDs?
