Land of fruits and nuts ... and I love it here. :-). Of course, we don't get much earthquake activity in Sacramento.

I agree with you about hurricanes, but many tornadoes don't give much more warning than earthquakes. You have to be stupid to get killed by a hurricane but just unlucky to get killed by a tornado.

The earth is not a stable place... lulls you with a million years of quiet then BAM!

EARTHQUAKE BAD BEAT: I call a raise in the SB with 66. *EARTHQUAKE*. I run out with 100-200 others. Eventually they open the doors & I go back in to see hand still in progress. My hand dead. A65dd. Guy had 555. I would have doubled (player looked at my hand (!?!) & confirmed)

During an earthquake-delayed game, a guy with an ace, a 6, a 5 and two deuces was beaten by the Small Blind (guy to left of dealer), who had three 5s.

wait until this warm period ends and the ice starts building from the north and slowly turns north america and northern europe into frozen tundra. Then we will be crying for the good ole days of earth quakes and sun burns.

Nevertheless I have a friend in southern california, they live on one of those steep hills that 30% of the population seems to inhabit. Ill also add that the building codes in California read like they were written by a room full of fly by night builders. Well, I fear for her when that big 8 comes.
