For what it's worth, Kathy Cook (who I think was still Miss Smallwood at the time) also ran 22.21 with a +2.5m/s wind at the 1982 Commonwealth Games. She was 2/100ths behind Merlene Ottey.

    Not want you wanted? Sad.

If you really wanted a more in depth calculation beyond 22.50 rather than an arsehole bit of sniping you would done the work and posted it - but you didnn't.
Someone's overreacting, to say the least.

For those of you interested in UK Female Sprinters you might like this 2 Part interview we did with Commonwealth, World and Olympic Champion Christine Ohuruogu!!!

First proper one she'd ever done and she talks about EVERYTHING including her major champ wins, suspension and of course Sanya. It's really good even if I do say so myself.

    Bump!

Amy Hunt (b.2002) has today run 22.42 in Mannheim, Germany. I think her previous best was 23.09 (& 11.31 for 100m).

And a world under 18 record at that! Mannheim is fast, but that time was still a shock!

Elsewhere, former teen sensation Jody Williams runs 51.22A over 400m.

Looks like Amy Hunt hasn't trained seriously for anything over 100 meters before this year.

She has run 200m at national age-group indoor champs but never outdoors at a national or regional champs. Her best before this year was 24.33.

I noticed that before yesterday's 22.42 she had improved her 100 from 11.56 to 11.31....and taken that 24.33 down to 23.19, into a wind.
