I see they have my favorite conversion error: start with one decimal place and end up with two.

The mercury hit 44.3 (111.74 fahrenheit)
but that is pretty stinkin' hot for France.

I could easily dismiss even that big an outlier as being an anomaly, if the whole planet weren't experiencing the phenomenon more and more with each passing year . . . which, of course, it is.

Swealtering heat this week in the Northeast. I felt like I had a pack of baboons breathing on my back as I walked across the parking lot!.. Friends, if the global warming doesnt kill us, the climate change will!

user4 was using the old wood chipper to break down some yard brush in massachusetts and by the time the clock got to 12 noon I felt like I was in death valley california!

Friends, whether you are as manly as user4 or more manly, you dont want to be in that sun without sunscreen.

Ya'll did not get the requisite childhood acclimation. It is supposed to be hot in the summertime. Kids of my generation, no electricity, no AC, worked 14 hour 105 F days shirtless, no sunscreen and survived, slept outside in cool 90 F overnight temps ..
I still prefer heat to cold...two years in Calgary satisfied my lifetime quota of cold... but I do walk in the shade every chance I get on my evening walk/jogs these days..
