<<errrrr, a few days ago.....Real Madrid 5 MLS All Stars
    >0.

Is it possible that given how important the "team" part of the game is that the MLS guys were basically still introducing themselves to each other and had no cohesion?

    Something I've been wondering...

Does anybody outside of the U.S. play
    >Ultimate Frisbee? It's a fast-growing competitive sport is this country but
    >still a bit underground. I'd expect to see Ultimate in the Olympics
    >someday.
...assuming they play it outside of the US.

Something I've been wondering... How can "Ultimate Frisbee" be a fast- growing and competitive sport in this country and still be so far underground that I and nobody I know has ever heard ot it? When and where is "Ultimate Frisbee" played? How is it played? Then again, we had beach volleyball in Athens. And slalom kayaking.

How can you compare the two? White water kayak/canoe is a a demanding, high skill real sport.

    US soccer

The US did not send a strong team to play Real Madrid . Many of the top US players refused to go. On their own soil MLS teams did quite well against top European clubs.

The US national team would give Real Madrid a good game. If they beat Mexico September 3rd they will be the first team to qualify for the world cup.

It is so nice to have American now part of the "real" world series.

Pego, I did not compare the two. I do believe that both activities are nondescript and inconsequential.

America must excel at soccer since it is the world's game.

The world does not care about the NFL.

<Quarterfinal round, where they lost to Germany.>

He knew it BH, that was a sarcasm aimed at me. BTW, that loss to Germany was a crying shame. The no-call on the German handball on the goal line was one of the worst I've ever seen.

<Pego, I did not compare the two. I do believe that both activities are nondescript and inconsequential.>

I simply agree with you about the beach volleyball, disagree about the white water kayak/canoe. It is not "nondescript". As far as "inconsequential", you could apply that to just about any sport. My friends commonly heaped scorn at me such as "what a waste to use your temporal lobes to store such nonsense". :-)))
