Consistency. And some of the action shots (especially if an athlete is straining towards the end of a race or roaring in celebration) contort the face and/or don't give a clear view.

The mugshots aren't a new feature of the site. They have been in place for about seven years now. Each time an athlete is accredited for a World Athletics event, the mugshot gets updated. We have a...

Re: 2014 NCAA: wHept—frosh Williams favored

She is already a good heptathlete. And 6.32m is a pretty good long jump PB for an 18-year-old heptathlete.
(I know she turns 19 today, but she was 18 when she set that PB).

Re: 2014 NCAA: wHept—frosh Williams favored

Incredible performance. Puts her inside the top 10 on the world junior all-time list for the 100m hurdles! It's also the fastest performance in the world by a junior athlete since 2007. Goes without...
  6. Re: ¶2014 iNCAA: wPent--Kendell Williams (Georgia) 4635 WJR,

Anyone know if they'll do all the drug testing at NCAAs that's required for ratifying a WJR? Only reason I ask is because Nafissatou Thiam lost a potential WJR last year because there was no drug...
  7. Re: ¶2014 iNCAA: wPent--Kendell Williams (Georgia) 4635 WJR,

The individual high jump has just been won with 1.87m.

Kendell Williams jumped 1.88m within her pentathlon.
  8. Re: ¶2014 NCAA: Pent--Kendell Williams (Georgia) 4635 CR

    She's done it! 4635 - WJR, CR.

PBs in all five events. Superb talent.
  9. Re: 2014 iNCAA: wPent—

The first heat is taking place at the moment. Second heat should be a few mins later.
  10. Re: 2014 iNCAA: mHept—

Beach wins it with a PB of 6190 (2:28.76 in 1000m). Uibo second, 6044. Lazas third, 5973.
  11. Re: 2014 iNCAA: wPent—

Another PB for Kendell Williams - 6.32m! She now needs to run 2:24.72 in the 800m to break Carolina Kluft's iWJR. Her PB is nearly four seconds faster than that and would give her 4587, which would...
  12. Re: 2014 iNCAA: wPent—

After a PB of 12.05m in the shot (making it 3 PBs out of 3 events so far), Kendell Williams is now on pace to break the world junior indoor pentathlon record. If she equals her PBs in the long jump...

Forecast with one event to go:

Silver and bronze still pretty open.
  14. Re: 2014 iNCAA: mHept—

Alex McCune has cleared 5.45m in the heptathlon pole vault, the best ever in an NCAA heptathlon. He's now attempting 5.55m.

Could be too little too late to challenge for a medal though after being...
  15. Re: 2014 iNCAA: mHept—

After 5.05m in the PV, Beach pretty much has this in the bag. He needs 2:33.19 in the 1000m to break his PB (6138). If he matches his 1000m PB (2:23.62), he'll score 6252.
  16. Re: 2014 iNCAA: wPent—

Kendell Williams is a huge talent. Pretty close to the AJRs (8.08 / 1.92m) in both the 60H (8.21) and HJ (1.88m). She's set to smash her pentathlon AJR and could even challenge Bougard for gold.

  17. Re: 2014 iNCAA: mHept—

Gutted for Cato. After the first three events, had he been in form to match his SBs in the remaining four, he'd have scored 6200+.

With him out, this is a forecast of the remaining contenders:...
  18. Re: 2014 result of multi-event athletes-

Eaton 6.69 in the 60m and 7.58m in the LJ tonight in Athlone, Ireland.
Brianne Theisen-Eaton 1.80m in HJ and 13.46m outright PB in the shot.
  19. Re: 2014 result of multi-event athletes-

Kravchenko cleared 5.20m in the pole vault at the Belarusian Champs and long jumped 7.50m.
