Re: anyone else not have the Sep TFN?

Yeah, of course, I meant the Oct issue. And if it was mailed on 10 Sep, not 7 Sep, I'm not worried. It takes awhile for the USPS to get stuff down here to the end of the world

anyone else not have the Sep TFN?

Usually, after the cover appears on this site, I get mine in a week or less. Not so this time. Mail has come, and no Sep issue.

Re: now we know how Merritt did it!!!!

Actually, the worthless U-T here in San Diego actually got it right. Right event, right time and even gave a credit to Robles. Don't look at the op-ed page, unless you have a strong stomach. The...
  7. Re: Who will be waking up at 5:00 am EST beginning Fri to wa

Work? What is this thing you call work? I discovered awhile ago that the adage "by the time you can sleep as late as you want, you can't" is true. I wake up circa 6AM most days. The cat helps a...

Damn, I checked the spelling, and then the bad fingers bit me  I'm assuming that Garry's "Hiel" was a well deserved dig.

    for Seig

Sieg, if you are still in the area, and if the eTN51 is in the can, could you archive it? I have had real trouble dealing with the emails that have been sent, so I stopped opening them and just...

    contests?

If this has been covered earlier, my bad. Will there be T&FN contest(s) for the OG?
  11. Re: Monaco DL: mSteepleŚ8:06.81 AR for Jager in 3rd

Thanks, Garry. When I was in the Army in the '60s, I had occasion to sip (nah, slosh down) the glass or two of Jagermeister. My head was not happy in the morning.
  12. Re: Will The US Women Ever Break The 4x4 WR?

Probably not. A more realistic goal would be the AR, which has proved nearly as tough as the WR. #1 & #2 since '88.
  13. Re: Monaco DL: mSteepleŚ8:06.81 AR for Jager in 3rd

When I saw the results, I told the wise woman that Evan had taken out the AR in maybe his 5th or 6th steeple ever. Big oops. I guess I thought he may have run one in Europe. I did remember that...
  14. Re: is there any way to get around the damn ad

Well, the problem went away (I might have been able to go in via the google connection). The main issue is the lack of eTN 44, the EC issue. It will show up eventually.

    Oops, eTN 47 has appeared...
  15. is there any way to get around the damn ad

I have been trying to get to the archives section, and the damn universal sports ad blocks my access. Any ideas?

I will be picking up the wise woman on the Sunday of the last day. I know some of you have flown in/out of the airport. How large is it? Will I have a problem finding her on the curb? I did a...

Re: Who here is going to the OT?

I'll be there for the whole meet (section O) where you can see the meeting (except the damn boards, which they don't turn often enough). The wise woman has health issues, so will only be up for the...

Re: Best Beer in the World?

For just day to day drinking (I do that some), I just go down to Bev More and get the best deal on ale (or the like). The last couple times, it was Bass and Newcastle Brown. Darn. Right know it is...
  23. Re: Staatskapelle - strike one from my bucket list

Oh, by the way. Does anyone have any clue on the London Philharmonia? It will be dropping by, with Esa Peka conducting. We saw him at LA (great hall, need to see Dudamal). but I know nothing about...
  24. Re: Staatskapelle - strike one from my bucket list

I didn't count it per se, but a smaller orchestra than for the earlier pieces. More like a a classical gang, maybe a bit larger than Beethoven, but not so large as for the other pieces.

    Re: happy 70th to "Casablanca"

How about Greta? We saw Anna Christie (both the play and the movie) recently. Both were wonderful. The movie cut some of the O'Neill play (duh) but Garbo rocked. As did the actress who played...
