It sure as hell looks indoors to me. A house with all the windows open is probably more open to the elements that this stadium.

That would be a good place to set a long throws indoor record too. (JT, HT, DT)

The whole point of indoor season is that it lets you organize meets when the weather outside is not conducive to competing. Opening all windows goes against that idea, so I don't think that would be keeping to the spirit of indoor competition, either.

I doubt it would be good for the DT; as I understand it you want those wind tunnels of Hawaii, San Diego (?) etc., with a quartering wind for lift. Can someone like gh confirm and speak to the JT; I doubt that the hammer or shot are much affected by wind.

I don't think Fortius was talking of absolute records being set, just the longest indoor throws.
If you do consider it an indoor meet, I'm pretty sure Fajdek and Włodarczyk both set world bests. Possibly Harting as well?

Kanter has the longest indoor throw in DT.

the IAAF tech department has apparently made an "official ruling" that the meet is considered outdoors.

Apparently, Dr. Bondarchuk says the wind can affect the hammer (ball and wire can catch some wind), especially headwinds.

That gimmicky "World Record" was truly beneath Bolt. He should set up a proper venue next year and easlily break the indoor record.

That does make more sense for the hammer because the duration is much longer and the wire increases substantially the drag (especially if it is whipping around the ball because the speed when going forward could be very fast and wind resistance effects are the square of the speed.
