For a 5000m/10000m/marathon triple, Radcliffe (14:29:11, 30:01:09, 2:15:15) seems to have the highest total (3752).
T. Dibaba (14:11:15, 29:54:66, 2:20:35) currently has 3739. If she lowers her...

Kenya has plenty of them.
Kipkoech and Kitilit in M800m.
Birech in M3000mSC.
Sitonik in M10000m.
Kibiwot in W5000m.

Not only did he destroy (his own) single age record by 21 sec, he also broke his own M40 world record from last year by 0.01.
So Ryan Hall will make a comeback in the low-T division?
"Greatest Threats around the World."
Thanks for pointing this out. There are a few things that make this different from the Cincy incident.
1. A zoo employee forgot to close the gate to the "staff only" area. (So it is at least...

So Dix and Spearmon should be on the 200m team, right?
You have a perfect solution. Just pick three active athletes with the best PBs. Problem solved... only for people like yourself.

Williams is the biggest beneficiary of this whole fiasco. But I'm not sure if the biggest victim was Ludlow or Eccleston.

Martinez over Ludlow over Williams over Montano!
I think some people here are counting Jebet as a "Kenyan." I cannot think of any Kenyan other than Kiyeng who is a shoo-in for a medal. Coburn is currently ranked #3 behind those two.

At least three other Africans? Nyonsaba, Wambui and who else? Kate Grace has a faster SB than Alem and Sum. Wambui is inexperienced and definitely beatable. (Wilson beat her at World Indoor.) If...

Felix in 200 and Martinez in 800 deserve to be on that list more than most people you listed there.
Even Ryan Hill (7th last year, World Indoor Silver) had a better shot than someone like Symmonds.
They show all the 16 semifinalists on the screen, instead of "key qualifiers."
That alone is a huge difference.
But Uceny stayed on her feet!
A very good call. In a championship race, a kicker always has the advantage.
Obviously, he was not thinking about how to market himself as a pro runner when he made his college decision. But this market strategy of portraying himself as the ultimate "anti-NOP" guy seems to be...
If he had followed her example, and drunk some beetroot juice, he might have made the team. Too bad he is more interested in his "blue collar" persona than running fast.
I had the exact same problem. The NASCAR event was not shown (at least in my area). I know this because I was watching NBCSN on my treadmill at the gym.
Today, I had an even bigger problem. 90%...
There is more "tactics" involved when every single runner is not determined to jog the first 1100m.

Ever heard of Morgan Uceny?
Those time qualifiers are important in mid-d races so that runners have at least some incentive to push the pace. Otherwise, you would see 400m sprint races in open lanes after 1100m warm-up jogging...

Okay, I didn't know about her non-steeple PBs this year. But even if you include her, all three Americans should be among the top 12.

Yes to this. But a big NO to 800m.
Without the hurdles, maybe she can avoid falling. But open lanes are dangerous, and unlike 400mH, she may take down other people with her in 800m.
